Meet Some New Trainee Missionaries!
Update from the President
What happens when a young person with a heart to serve receives the opportunity to be trained for God’s work?
Our 2026–2027 school year began this week, and we are overjoyed to welcome a freshman class of 18 students to Hartland College.
Hartland attracts a unique kind of student. Our missionary focus is not one program among many—it is the framework that shapes everything we do. Chapel, agriculture, physical fitness, academic classes, practical service, outreach, meals, dorm life, and recreation: every part of the Hartland experience is deliberately structured to develop well-balanced young people who can minister to others in a redemptive way.
This year, 44 students are living and learning on our campus. Half of them are covering their tuition through Hartland’s financial aid programs—programs built on a simple exchange: for every year a student receives aid, they commit to serve as a missionary, domestically or abroad, for that same number of years.
It is our privilege—and our duty—to shape these young people into professional missionaries. They come to be equipped. They leave because they are called to be sent.
Meet a Few of This Year’s Freshmen
- Nelsy — Biblical Counseling. Her calling is to address the emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of people through a biblically grounded view of mental and emotional health.
- Ashley, Keren, and Briana — each pursuing Christian education, with hearts set on ministering to children.
- Ellen — from Peru, a health major with a calling to serve through medical missionary work.
- Stanislav — from Ukraine, training to be a Christian educator. His father is a pastor still serving in Ukraine in the midst of the war.
- Raphael — from the Philippines, a health major with a vision to start a lifestyle center in Asia to reach people through health ministry.
- Sai — a health major whose own parents are currently starting a wellness center in Asia.
- Jhosue — from Ecuador, studying biblical studies and digital ministry to support his parents’ ministry of digital evangelism.
These are only a few of the eighteen. Together, they represent students from across North America and around the world—each one bringing the same faith, enthusiasm, and willingness to receive a rigorous kind of training that will equip them to draw others to the fountain of eternal life, Jesus Christ.
This is why Hartland College exists.
Our vision is “A world reached by Seventh-day Adventist servant leaders bearing Christ’s selfless love as missionary professionals.”
Your investment is working. Every gift toward Hartland’s financial aid program becomes
a hand extended to a student like Ellen, Stanislav, or Sai—young people whom God has already called, and who are now being trained to answer.
One student, equipped, can plant a church.
One health major can open a lifestyle center.
One digital missionary can reach thousands who will never set foot on our campus.
Thank you for partnering with us in Hartland’s mission to prepare this next generation of missionaries to carry Christ’s love, hope, and healing to the world.
With gratitude,
Our Mission
To equip missionaries to transform the world through Christ.
We are training missionaries to touch people’s lives with God’s love through a biblically based educational program that combines academics with practical service and outreach.
We Envision
Hartland alumni serving in every nation, supporting the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to prepare the world for Christ’s soon return.
Our Motto
Educating for Eternity, Serving Today!
