A Graduate Already at Work

Update from the President, September 10th, 2026

What happens when a young person with a heart to serve receives the opportunity to be trained for God’s work?

Sometimes, the answer is found thousands of miles away—in a community where more than 80 people gather to learn about health, receive encouragement, and discover that there are simple things they can do to improve their lives.

This is the story of Sinenhlanhla “S’ne” Mdlalose, a 2026 Hartland College graduate from South Africa.

S’ne came to Hartland with a deep desire to serve God, but without knowing exactly where that calling would lead. Through her training in Health Ministry, she discovered not only practical skills, but also greater confidence and a clearer vision for her life’s mission.

After graduating in May, S’ne returned to South Africa determined to serve her community.

And she is already doing exactly that.

Recently, a local church invited her to help organize a health expo. More than 80 people attended, receiving health screenings, natural-remedy education, consultations, and practical instruction on simple principles of health and healing. S’ne also provided coaching and spent time speaking individually with people who wanted to make meaningful lifestyle changes.

But the ministry did not end when the health expo was over.

Together with church members, S’ne is now following up with those who expressed interest. They are planning home visits and personal support for individuals who need additional encouragement as they begin making changes in their lives.

S’ne shared,

“Doing this kind of work is a blessing to me because what I want to do is serve the community and make a difference, pointing people to Jesus, the great Physician and Redeemer.”

This is why Hartland College exists.

Our goal is not simply to educate students. We want to prepare young men and women from around the world to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to their communities through practical, compassionate service.

Many of our international students could never afford this kind of education without the generosity of friends like you. Your support makes it possible for students such as S’ne to receive training, gain confidence, and return to their countries equipped to serve.

When you give to Hartland, you are not simply helping a student—you are investing in the people who that student will reach.

One graduate can influence a church.

One health expo can touch dozens of families.

One trained missionary can bring hope to an entire community.

S’ne’s story is one small glimpse of what God can do when a willing heart is given the opportunity to be trained and equipped.

She has returned home with a prayer that there will be “more of us in the field of medical missionary work, for the advancement of the gospel.”

We share that prayer.

Thank you for believing in Hartland’s mission and for helping us prepare the next generation of workers who will carry Christ’s love, hope, and healing to the world.

With gratitude,
