Hartland College Brings Health and Wellness Outreach to Remnant SDA Church
Through practical health education, music, and Christ-centered service, Hartland students helped the community experience a message of hope, healing, and whole-person wellness.
Hartland College students and staff recently partnered with Remnant SDA Church in Burtonsville, Maryland, for Designed to Thrive, a health and wellness weekend focused on helping individuals grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. The event brought together practical health education, inspiring testimonies, live coaching sessions, music, and hands-on wellness activities for the community.
Throughout the weekend, Hartland representatives presented classes and shared personal testimonies designed to encourage healthier living and deeper spiritual growth. Attendees also benefited from live health coaching sessions, where practical guidance was offered in a personal and meaningful way.
One of the highlights of the event was a free health expo, where guests participated in a variety of wellness stations and activities. These included massages, health tips, exercise challenges, lung capacity testing, blood sugar checks, the Harvard step test, health age assessments, blood pressure checks, and education on simple natural remedies such as water and charcoal.
The weekend also included a special musical blessing from Praise Him Choral, which presented a mini concert on Sabbath. Through music, education, and personal ministry, the event reflected Hartland’s desire to serve communities in practical ways while pointing hearts to Christ.
The health weekend was a meaningful opportunity for Hartland students and staff to put mission into action—sharing knowledge, encouragement, and Christ-centered care with the surrounding community.
